Philharmonic auditions are submitted via video and are due Monday, August 16, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. (the Monday prior to the start of the semester). Students should first register for the course (so they receive access to Canvas materials). Should you not make it into the ensemble, you may then drop the course. Audition results will be posted by the first Tuesday of classes.The ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ Philharmonic Orchestra meets Tuesday 12:15-2:55 p.m. and Thursday 12:15–1:30 p.m., in Greaves Concert Hall. The Philharmonic is directed by Dr. Amy Culligan.
The annual ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ Concerto-Aria Competition provides an opportunity for students to perform as soloists with the ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ Philharmonic Orchestra. The mission is to identify and showcase exceptional talent, while offering the opportunity for emerging musicians to perform major concerti and arias with orchestra.
Goals:
Provide an enriching experience for non-orchestral instrumentalists and vocalists to perform as soloists with an orchestra.
ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ the Competition
The ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ Philharmonic Concerto Competition is open to all instruments and voice. There may be up to a total of four winners. ÌÇÐÄVlog¹Ù·½ college students of any major and instrument/voice are welcome to participate, but they must be full-time and enrolled in applied lessons (during the competition and performance semesters). Orchestral instrumentalists must be enrolled in the Philharmonic Orchestra (during the competition and performance semesters).
